Help Keep My Boys and Me From Homelessness

Hey everyone, my name is Dasha. I’m a 29-year-old single mother of two boys, aged 8 and 10. We currently live in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Around this time last year, my boys and I got into our first official apartment after being homeless for nearly two years. It was one of the best feelings ever for us. I was finally able to put my boys in school, and seeing them happier made it all worth it.

At the time, I had a job but eventually lost it due to company issues. I relied on my cleaning business and juice business to keep us going. For the first six months, I was maintaining everything, but by the seventh month, things began to get rough.

The moth of July, I experienced a sexual assault that led to an unwanted pregnancy. The trauma left me very sick, both physically and emotionally. I gradually became unable to properly serve my cleaning clients and eventually lost them. This experience of being SA'd and impregnated against my will dragged me into the heaviest depression I have ever faced in my life.

For over two months, I battled major depression and PTSD. I felt like giving up on everything, including my life. My kids were worried about me, and I couldn’t hide what was happening.

I was able to terminate the pregnancy, and after that, I began the healing process and tried to get back on track.

As much as I’ve tried to get myself together, I have faced constant obstacles. Struggling with my mental health, raising my children, and trying to support us on my own has been overwhelming.

This month marks the end of our lease, and due to my financial inconsistencies, my landlord is not willing to renew the lease with me. At one point, I had to take out a title loan on my car, and unfortunately, I fell behind on payments, which led to the car being repossessed on January 17, 2025.

As much as I don’t like asking for help, there comes a point when pride has to be set aside. I’m asking for help—for the sake of my babies.

I really don’t want to see my boys go through homelessness again or have to remove them from their school. We have by February 14, vacate our current places and find a new one.



I have 14 Days to retrieve my car it will take about $3000 dollars for me to get my car back. My car is my source of income and its become much more challenging to try and make money, money, and take my children to school on time as we will have to walk there for now.
