As many of you know, our dear friend Darrien has faced health challenges since being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just 8 years old. Now, at 34, she’s battling end-stage kidney failure and undergoing at-home dialysis while awaiting a kidney transplant. Dialysis, though helpful, comes with significant complications—she frequently experiences high blood pressure, nausea, insomnia, and requires ongoing hospital visits for mental and medical health issues. As a result, working full-time has become impossible, and the costs of medications, treatments, hospital stays, and doctor visits are rapidly adding up.
As I write this, Darrien is in the ER again.
Thankfully, there’s some good news—a live donor match has been found! Her transplant, initially scheduled for October 22nd, has been moved to November 19th. While this brings immense hope, it also means more medical expenses, time off work, and additional costs for hotel stays.
We’ve set up this GoFundMe to help Darrien and her wonderful partner, Scott, manage the financial burden during this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a huge difference and provide them with some peace of mind.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in supporting Darrien on her journey to recovery!
We love you Darrien!!!!
