My brother-in-law, Darren, has always been a fighter, but nothing could have prepared us for the battle he’s facing now. A sudden stroke and brain bleed from an undiagnosed AVM nearly took his life—but thanks to emergency surgery, he’s still here with us. While we are beyond grateful, the road ahead is tough.

Darren is dealing with significant impairment on the left side of his body, making even the simplest tasks a challenge. His business—the livelihood he worked so hard to build—is on hold while he focuses on recovery. Doctors estimate it will take months for the blood in his brain to absorb, leaving him out of work for at least six months to a year.

With mounting medical bills and everyday expenses, he and Carmen, his incredible wife, need all the support they can get. I’m humbly reaching out to ask for help—for Darren and his family, and the life he’s fighting so hard to reclaim.

The love and support from family, friends, neighbors, and entire communities have been overwhelming. It reminds us that Darren is not alone in this fight.
