Darren Riog is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. Just a few weeks ago, he was dealing with the aftermath of moving out of his home due to toxic mold. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with a double lung infection, but with determination, he sought treatment and was on the mend—so much so that he managed to put in a 10-hour workday. The very next morning, Darren woke up struggling to breathe. What he thought was just a lingering infection turned out to be something much more serious. After a series of tests and consultations with the incredible cardiac team at LCMC EJ, it was determined that Darren needs quadruple bypass surgery and a heart valve repair. His surgery is scheduled for Wednesday, 3/18/26. Despite everything, when I visited him on Monday, 3/16, he was in good spirits, showing the resilience and positivity that everyone who knows him admires. This health crisis came out of nowhere and has turned his world upside down. The surgery, recovery, rehab, and the long road ahead before he can even think about returning to work will put an immense financial strain on Darren. He has enough on his mind right now, and that's why I felt compelled to start this fundraiser. I've known Darren for over 40 years, and if you know him, you know he's a stand-up guy who would never ask for help himself. So I'm asking for him—please donate whatever you can spare. Your support will help ease the burden and allow Darren to focus on healing. Thank you for being there for him in this difficult time.
