Most of you know me and know that I don't ask for handouts but at this time i feel like i have no choice. My name is Darren Kuhn. My story starts on January 6th and 10th of 2025. I had spine fusion surgery i am currently fused from my T9 to my pelvis from which now I am disabled from. I haven't worked since December of 2024 and currently not able to work. On January 24th of 2025 I experienced massive pulmonary embolism's ( right lung was 100% blocked and left lung was 75% blocked) I also had a massive MI in the ambulance before we left my driveway. I had to be put on ecmo and full bypass and it took 2 days for me to come back. All the doctors' are amazed that I survived everything. Now fast forward to November of 2025 I started having stomach pains and turned jaundice. I then found out that I had a bile duct blockage so I had to have a stent put in my bile duct. After more testing I was found to have stage 4 bile duct cancer ,I was then scheduled for a Whipple Procedure but when the surgeon got in my stomach he found that the cancer had already spread to my liver so that surgery had to be aborted. I have currently started chemotherapy and immunotherapy drugs. I had genetic testing done and I was told with a year of chemotherapy and at least 2 years of immunotherapy drugs that I should survive this. All this time my wife has busted her ass to make sure we had money to pay our bills and to keep food on the table and I commend her for not losing her mind. At this point in my life I need to swallow my pride and ask for help I already have mounting doctor bills from my spine surgery and I can only guess how bad my chemotherapy bills are going to be.
