HELP Darlene’s Family After Losing Her Battle With Leukemia
Donation protected
Darlene McKinney Bishop, a beloved mother, aunt, sister, and devoted Christian, was recently diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in February.
After undergoing a very eventful five-week induction chemotherapy regimen, she was discharged Thursday.
Unfortunately, by Saturday morning, she was rushed by EMS to the hospital where her heart stopped, and CPR was initiated in the emergency room and then again in the helicopter while she was being life-flighted to ECU Medical Center.
After suffering multi-organ failure and brain damage from the lack of oxygen, she made an early departure to be with Jesus. Her daughter Jade has been on her own with her three children, keeping things afloat while she’s been in the hospital for the last month and a half. Jade has not been able to work, taking on the role of full-time mom, full-time daughter, and caretaker.
We are asking family, friends, church, and anyone who is willing to pitch in to help Jade support her family during this time of grief and financial hardship. Darlene was their main source of financial support.
Every donation will help the family’s ongoing monthly bills such as home utilities, groceries, school necessities, gas, and child care along with any other needs that may arise. The children are Tristan, age 5; Alana, age 10; and Shawna, age 15.
We know Darlene would be so appreciative of all the kindness and prayers that have been lifting her up. We are praying that God will provide a miracle for this family. Please continue your much-needed prayers.
Thank you.
