My name is Darla, and I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer after struggling with symptoms for a couple of years. The symptoms caused me to miss a lot of work, and things became more difficult as they worsened. After finally seeing a doctor, I learned I would need surgery on June 11th, 2025. Because I run my small business, DBQ'S BBQ, by myself, I won't have any income during my recovery. Unfortunately, I don't qualify for any aid, so I am facing this challenge with zero financial support.

The costs are adding up quickly. I need help covering fuel for frequent trips to Chico for doctor appointments, as well as hotel stays, rent, and bills that have piled up while I've been unable to work. My hope is for a smooth recovery and to get back to serving my community and customers as soon as possible. I truly miss my work and the people I meet through my food trailer.
