My name is Angela Scott, and I am asking for support for my in-laws, Darla and Ray Scott, during a difficult time.

For many of you in Liberty Hill, Darla is a familiar and friendly face behind the counter at Texas Taco Kitchen. She loves her job and takes pride in serving her community. For those who know her, you know how hard she works and how big her heart is.

On September 14th, my husband had to rush her to the ER because she was having a hard time breathing. Doctors discovered that her heart is out of rhythm and enlarged, and she has retained a dangerous amount of fluid, which is putting pressure on her lungs. She has been in the hospital since then, and we don't know when she will be able to go home.

Her husband, Ray Scott, has worked for the union for years. The nature of his work means there are often periods between jobs. As a result, he has not yet accumulated enough hours to qualify for medical insurance to cover Darla's extended hospital stay. He has also taken time off work to stay by her side.

This will create significant financial hardship for them. I have started this GoFundMe to help ease their burden. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward medical expenses and keeping their home running.
