Hi, I am Bea, the wife of this man, Darin, and his furry companion, Arrow. Darin has esophageal cancer, metastasized to his liver and lungs. Treatment is going great. Bills, not so much. While insurance is covering most, we have been able to handle the leftovers, until now. Recently, Darin was hospitalized due to internal bleeding in his stomach. While at one hospital, it was determined he needed to be moved to another hospital since they did not have the staff to do gastro imaging to find the bleeding.
We recently received the ambulance bill...a 45-minute drive, after insurance, is over $8,000. We are already paying over $750/month in hospital payments and still have not received the second hospital's bill. It is most likely still undergoing insurance determination.
Darin is working, unable to retire, as he is working to keep his insurance. He loves working, hates being home alone (except for his Puppers, Arrow), so unless I can retire too (not yet), he still wants to work, to be with his work dudes.
These surprise bills are going to be our undoing if we cannot get help.
Any little bit can and will help. Oh, and if you cannot donate, that is fine! If you are willing to share this, that too will help!
Thank you.
Bea
