**UPDATE 4/26/24– Daren has been discharged back home. Continue to share and pray for speedy recovery.
**UPDATE 4/25/24-- Daren is back in the hospital again, unfortunately. He has a blood clot in his left lung. Please continue to pray for healing, guidance for his medical team, and that he returns home to continue his recovery.

We’re raising money for Daren Carr and his family. Daren was diagnosed with cancer, shortly after his wife completed her own cancer treatment. He was out of work for months while enduring endless treatments-- infusions, pills, pain, port placement...being poked and prodded until finally completing his treatment. Before he was released to return to work, he was back in the emergency department for shortness of breath and fluid build up on his lungs. He again had to endure drains and multiple doctor visits to relieve the fluid.
Ultimately Daren was diagnosed with Restrictive Pericarditis-- the lining/casing around his heart was restricting the heart's ability to pump blood. Daren was again in/out of the emergency department while doctors developed a plan. He had open heart surgery on April 1st to remove the casing of his heart and allow it pump normally. This is a rare disease and rare surgery-- only a few patients in the nation undergo this surgery every year. At this point, Daren has been out of work and without health insurance since February 2023.

If you know Daren you know that he's a family man, hard worker, and all around great guy. He's the first one to offer a helping hand... he'll show up to trim that tree that has been bugging you and take away the trash when he goes. He's the one you can always count on and wants nothing in return.

As Daren battles to recover and return to his normal life, his family is by his side. His loving wife, four children and four grandchildren are walking this struggle with him. The financial strain of medical expenses and daily necessities weighs heavily on their shoulders. They have drained their savings and are draining their retirement fund just to stay afloat. His family now needs help with expenses relating to his treatment and recovery ahead. Any support or donation would make a difference in easing their burden and stress of paying off his medical bills, so they can all focus on his healing. Every donation made will go directly to Daren and his wife and will be greatly appreciated.
