Hi, my name is Dareen, and I never imagined I would have to ask for help like this.

I came to the United States to escape a situation that put my safety, identity, and future at risk. I’m currently going through the asylum process — a path I never chose, but one I must take in order to live freely and without fear.

Because of the sensitive nature of my story, I can’t share all the details here. What I can say is that going back is not an option for me. I’m doing everything I can to build a new, safe life, but the legal costs of this process are overwhelming.
