Update 1/12/26: Hi everyone - we wanted to provide an update for all of Darcy's loved ones. First, we want to thank all that have donated so far. Unfortunately, there was a dramatic decline in Darcy's health leading up to Thanksgiving. Hospice was called and are providing daily care, along with Darcy also needing a private agency to supplement the limited time of hospice. She is also needing 24hour monitoring from friends and family when the hired care givers are not with her. All of the funds donated have helped tremendously with the cost of Darcy's additional, private in-home care.

Hi everyone. My name is Kelsey, and it breaks my heart to be setting up this page for my Aunt Darcy. In April of last year, Darcy was out doing what she loves - taking photos of wildlife, particularly owls. While she was out, she had what is believed to be a seizure while at Horn Pond. She was rushed to the hospital and within a couple of days, she was given the horrible news that she has a Glioblastoma brain tumor. She went in for her first surgery at the end of April and unfortunately, the tumor came back. She had her second brain surgery on November 5, 2024.

Darcy lives with her two boys and is the sole provider for the household. Over the last 18 months, while fighting this disease, she has exhausted all of her leave, sick time, and vacation. She is now on leave without pay and receiving SS disability. And as everyone knows, Social Security disability does not pay the bills. The thoughts of not being able to afford to pay her bills while also dealing with this horrific disease have been extremely stressful.

Despite all of the surgeries and treatments, sadly the tumor has returned for a 3rd time. Any donations to help this family are very much needed and would be greatly appreciated. I know so many of you love Darcy and want to wish her well, but I ask you to please limit your well wishes to email, written cards, or letters (vs any social media messages, texts, calls, etc.). Darcy and her family are putting all of their energy into helping her fight this horrible disease. Thank you all in advance for any assistance you may give.
