My wife Dara was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. She bravely underwent chemotherapy, which was extremely hard on her body, but for a while, it worked. The tumors disappeared and she was cancer free for about two years. During that time, we kept a close eye on her health with regular scans and checkups, always hoping for the best.

About six months ago, the cancer returned. We chose to keep this private, not wanting to retraumatize our three children, and have been fighting it silently ever since. This time, we are pursuing nontraditional treatments because the chemo was so detrimental last time. Unfortunately, none of the medications, vitamins, or supplements Dara needs are covered by insurance. Her strict diet, which is a crucial part of her treatment, requires us to buy more expensive foods. We also hope to consult with doctors whose protocols are not covered by insurance, adding to the financial strain.

We are now reaching out to our community for support as the cost of treatment rises. I am deeply grateful to anyone who gives. Dara is the best person I know; her family and the world need her.
