Hi everyone,
Our names are Dao Zong Lee and Ruth Hang, and we’re reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support during the most difficult time of our lives.
Our beautiful baby boy, Myles, was born prematurely, but has been healthy. When he was just 9 months old, he was hospitalized with RSV on January 17, 2025. During that hospital stay, a tragic medical accident caused a perforation in his small intestines, which led to multiple surgeries, inflammation, and complications.
His tiny body endured so much — he developed kidney issues, and he was eventually discharged after two long months with nephrostomy tubes, an ostomy, and an NG feeding tube. As his mother, I had to leave my job to care for him at home, and we’ve been struggling on just half of our usual income ever since.
Just recently, on May 30, 2025, we returned to the hospital for what we hoped would be a turning point: a colostomy reversal. At first, everything looked good, and we were even told we might be able to take him home on June 6. But on June 5, his belly became distended, and he spiked a fever. A CT scan revealed intestinal leaks where the surgical joints were made. He was rushed back into the OR for another emergency surgery and abdominal washout, and ended up needing a new ostomy.
As if that wasn’t enough, on June 8, he suddenly began having seizures. Doctors are still trying to determine the cause, and we are praying for answers and healing.
This journey has taken a massive emotional and financial toll on our family. We are doing everything we can to stay strong and care for our baby while managing hospital stays, travel, time off work, and medical needs.
Not sure how long we will be admitted, but we are humbly asking for your help to raise $10,000 to help cover:
* Hospital-related travel and food
* Medical supplies not fully covered by insurance
* Lost wages due to time away from work
* House bills, as I (mom) no longer work, so I can be by his side.
* Long-term care and follow-up treatments
Any amount, no matter how small, makes a huge difference for our family. And if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing our story.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, prayers, and support.
With gratitude,
Dao Zong Lee and Ruth Hang
