To anyone who knows Dante personally he needs no introduction, but that doesn’t mean I won’t take this opportunity to speak about this sweet soul I’m lucky to know.
Dante lives his convictions. He’s the kind of person who’d be upset if you didn’t call him and ask for help - shaking all of us out of the cultural falsity in the United States that everyone can and should do things on their own. When I think of the word community Dante immediately comes to mind. Among many thing I love about him its his love of musicals, his loyalty to his kitty Candy Corn, and his fierce protectiveness of his friends.
We all know inhumane our medical system can be in putting a price on the care we need and deserve. Dante knows this all too well. He’s a social worker who throughout the current COVID-19 Pandemic works with folks as they navigate homelessness, end of life care, and getting their basic needs met. He advocates for his clients to get access to, and quality of care of they deserve and now its time for us to do the same on his behalf.
Dante needs top surgery. My intention in this GoFundMe is we give him some ease of mind about the surgery by letting him focus on his what matters: his wellness and recovery not just the money it takes to make it happen. Any funds raised with go directly towards Dante’s surgery costs. I've adjusted the goal slightly to account for the percentage GoFundMe takes in this process.
I want to show him how loved, seen and supported he is - to show him a fraction of the love he puts out in the world back to him. So whether you can give a little, a lot, or a share - thank you <3 .
