Hello Family and Friends
Our Dad, Dan Bryan, "Dan the Man,”"K-Dog,” loving husband. Brother, Uncle, Cousin,
Soon-to-be Father-in-law, Poppy of two grandchildren. Friend, is in need of prayers and
healing. Our Dad was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called CIDP. "Chronic
inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy just a few years ago after suffering lots of
unexplained symptoms. He began treatments hoping to slow down his mobility issues and
put it in remission. However, He has gone from a very active man to a patient of limited
mobility today. We have watched him go from taking care of all of us, to not being able to
drive or walk without assistance. His speech has also been impacted to where he is unable
to work or communicate very easily. To paint the picture as best as possible, it almost
mimics MS, with no antibodies that match.
Over a year ago my momma applied to Mayo Clinic but was rejected because the local
doctors were administering IVIG and seemed to be on the right track. She was encouraged
not to give up and contacted them again and was accepted! My dad will be going to Mayo
Clinic, Rochester on June 2"'*! This is truly an answer to prayer and hopefully will answer his
questions as to why nothing they have done so far has made any difference in his
condition. He recently has been through 3 months of Plasmapheresis, with no noticeable
benefit.
With our full faith we believe that he had the proper diagnosis and multiple treatment
methods to conquer it but does not seem to be the case so far. The lack of Neurologists in
the Tulsa area who deal with rare diseases such as this has been disappointing.
Those of you who know "Dan, the Man," can lovingly confirm he has not only spent 35 years
fathering his children-but has also played the fatherly role to his two grandchildren and
many others not biologically his from time to time.
On behalf of my dad, I am calling on all of you to help him now if you can. He is scheduled
to be at Mayo for 2 weeks for testing. Neither of my parents will be working and will be
driving there. If you can contribute to his mounting medical costs, a meal, hotel, or gas, I
know they would be grateful. Most of all, if you can continue to pray for his complete
recovery, he would be very touched. Reach out if you can with any encouragement to him.
From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate each and every one of you.
