My stepdad, Dan, is one of the most selfless people I've ever known. Through every twist and turn in his life, he's always been there to lift others up, always with a smile on his face. Just 2 months ago, after a long course of chemotherapy for stage 4 prostate cancer, he was looking very good, and we all had so much hope. But today, we got the news the cancer is back and has now spread to his brain and spread throughout his body. Over the past year, he has not been able to work, and my mom has had to basically stop working to be able to care for him. She has been working a few hours a week at the local church down the street just to make ends meet. They simply do not have the funds to make this move on their own from California. Most of his family is here in Washington, and this is where the main help they need is. We desperately want to bring them back so we can be close, surrounded by family and love, and offer support if worse comes to worst. We've started this GoFundMe to help with medical costs, the move, day to day necessities, and the care he deserves. If you can give, we would be endlessly grateful.
