If you live in the Duncannon area, attend veteran club events, or own a car, chances are you know one or both of these beautiful people. On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the unthinkable happened at one of the club events both are so involved in. Danny suffered a massive heart attack and flatlined with his wife of 20+ years steps away from him while she was volunteering at the same event. Thankfully, with the help of amazing friends, Danny was revived - for the first time. Once in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, he flatlined again, this time with his distraught wife by his literal side. Again, thankfully, he was revived before ending up in the hospital where it was discovered he had several severe blockages and emergency procedures were performed to get his heart moving again.
Danny spent several days in the ICU undergoing numerous tests and procedures to determine what damage and impact all of this had on his heart. By the grace of God, he is once again wandering around the community - a little slower and with a fancy new vest, but he's home. He's required to be off work for an unknown amount of time which, even when permitted to return, he will not be allowed on full duty due to his restrictions. His fancy new vest is a medical device that assists in resuscitating him in the event his heart stops again. At this time, there is no known time frame for how long he has to wear that vest or what more may need to be done to get his heart back in shape. Ambulance rides, ICU stays, medical devices, and prescription medications are all expenses this family did not ever expect to incur. With the loss of work and insurance deductibles and co-pays being what they are, please consider helping in any way you can to ease the burden on these two amazing people while they attempt to navigate the new challenges and, with a lot of luck getting Danny to listen to Michelle, victories.
If Danny has ever helped you by answering questions, looking at your car, answering questions about your car, assisted with your community event, given you a wet willy, or pulled your sweatshirt hood over your eyes from behind, please consider donating to allow him to continue being his crazy, amazing, unique, and funny self. Similarly, if Michelle has ever lent a kind ear, a good laugh, honest advice, or a warm smile, please consider donating to keep her from being committed because she has to deal with Danny - or because you appreciate everything both of them are and do for each and every one of us. Thank you!
