Support Danny Stubbs' Battle Against Cancer

Donation protected
On February 3rd, 2025, my dad, Danny Stubbs, was in a car accident. He was conscious but not fully coherent, so he was taken to Kennestone Hospital. His scans revealed that he has a tumor in his brain about 10 centimeters in size. He also has a large mass in his right kidney, smaller masses in the left kidney, as well as a mass in his adrenal gland and one in his lungs as well.

The tumor in his brain caused hydrocephalus, a buildup of spinal fluid around his brain. This condition is very likely the cause of the car accident. My dad has trouble remembering the last couple of days and the events that preceded the wreck. He does not know where he was going that morning on the 3rd.

While in the hospital for 12 days, Danny had a shunt surgically placed in his head to drain the excess fluid from the hydrocephalus. He also had a biopsy which revealed that he has metastatic renal (kidney) cancer.

He was released from the hospital on the 14th and has come to live with my family and me in Dahlonega. We went to see his oncologist in Marietta this week, who explained the treatment plan to us. He will be receiving immunotherapy every three weeks at the cancer center at Kennestone. He is also undergoing 5 rounds of radiation in a span of 9 days to treat the brain tumor.

Once radiation is completed, he can begin taking a pill to help fight the cancer as well as continuing the IV immunotherapy. In order to receive the radiation, he has to have an MRI on the 27th.

This is all a major life change for Danny, who is used to being independent and constantly working. He is currently unable to work and does not have health insurance. We are waiting for financial assistance from Wellstar to hopefully come through. In the meantime, the MRI has to be paid in full at the appointment on the 27th.

This is causing stress for my dad and is the reason for this GoFundMe.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We are also incredibly grateful for any prayer sent this way. Prayers for healing and comfort for my dad, strength for him to keep going every day, and also prayers for me to provide the help and care my dad needs during this time. We will be making many, many trips from Dahlonega to Marietta for his treatment. We will provide updates either here or through my dad's Facebook.
