Hello, Many of you may already know about my son, Danny Stetler, and his health struggles these last 4 months.

On June 21st, our world was turned upside down. Danny was rushed to the hospital with severe chest pains wrapping around his back. He was extremely weak and short of breath. After seeing many specialists and spending 2 weeks in 2 different hospitals, one of which was the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center in downtown Philly, they still could not figure out what was wrong with him. Although his white blood cell count was consistently elevated (leukocytosis) and they found that he has splenomegaly (an enlarged spleen), he also has lymphocytosis (swollen lymph nodes) all over his body. His case was sent to Sloan Kettering in New York for review, and yet still no answers as to why, but they did confirm that it is NOT Lymphoma (which was their first thought). He was then sent to see other specialists including a rheumatologist~

He has endured many tests and procedures, including a bone marrow biopsy, a biopsy of his armpit, and a stomach biopsy as well. He has had other tests including CAT scans, MRIs, X-rays, PET scans, and many, many blood tests and speciality appointments.

Finally, on Thursday, 10/09/25, one day short of 16 weeks since his first onset of pain and suffering, lots of testing, and the torture of not knowing what was wrong with Danny, his rheumatologist got his results back and he had the answers. We finally have a diagnosis. Danny has an Autoimmune disease called~

Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Danny’s treatment plan moving forward is that he will have to have biologic medication Via IV infusions every 8 weeks for the rest of his life.

Danny has been out of work since June 21st as a result of this with no paychecks coming in.

Anyone who knows Danny knows that he has the biggest heart and the most sweetest soul! His love and passion for Hockey is beyond belief. His teams, The Tropics and The Dusty Trops mean the absolute world to him. Danny’s goal is to get treatment and to hopefully go into remission so that he can get back to his life, his work and of course back on the ICE!!!!

So, we have started this GoFundMe for him so that he can start his treatments and not have to worry about financial obligations. Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance!
