Support Danny Hernandez’s Road to Recovery

It was another fun, exciting, and competitive weekend for Danny and the family competing at the annual NABA Intercity sports (event in Virginia Beach until a near fatal health incident occurred. During the middle of Danny’s basketball game (Cherry Hill versus Virginia Beach), he suffered a massive heart attack and had to be resuscitated via Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with chest compressions & mouth to mouth, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Danny was rushed to the local hospital and immediately underwent heart surgery. He is in critical but stable condition. Danny’s family will be staying in Virginia for days/weeks until Danny can be safely discharge from the hospital. Danny and his family have a long and tough road ahead and they need our emotional, spiritual and financial support. The family will be incurring significant unplanned medical bills, time off from school/work, and incremental travel expenses in Virginia until Danny can be discharged. To help ease their financial burden during these difficult times, we are putting together this gofund me drive. Anything you can donate to support Danny and his family will be greatly appreciated.

Special thanks to all those who quickly reacted during the chaotic event. We are all very thankful for the quick reactions by many that saved Danny’s life through CPR and finding/using AED. CPR was led by Jay Jalosjos (Cherry Hill) who relentlessly and effectively executed chest compressions and Django Rivera (Virginia Beach) who quickly provided mouth to mouth. Also, special thanks to Pastor Darius Nable (Cherry Hill) for the spiritual guidance given to Danny and his family during these difficult times.
