Hi, my name is Kay Page. I’ve never created a GoFundMe page before, but I believe my nephew, Danny Gollhuir, is a strong candidate for this campaign.
Danny is 37 years old. He discovered about two years ago that he has stage 4 liver disease, which is a result of alpha-1 deficiency. Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) is a genetic disease. At his stage, his only treatment option was a liver transplant.
In spite of Danny’s deteriorating health, he has pushed himself to work. Unfortunately, this year, due to declining health, Danny has only been able to work sporadically.
Danny and his fiancée, Jessica, have a wedding date set for October 11, 2025. This date has been a source of fear for them due to his declining health, and according to his doctors a few weeks ago, it may not be possible.
This year has been an emotional rollercoaster for Danny and Jessica. Danny was admitted to NEGMC in Braselton about two months ago, which is his third hospital stay this year. Danny and his family were informed that he only had weeks to live. Danny and Jessica feared that their last few weeks would be spent either in a hospital with hospice or at home with hospice care. Jessica was worried that instead of planning a wedding, she would have to plan a funeral.
Thankfully, Danny had a physician visit him at NEGMC and believed he was a candidate for a liver transplant. This doctor expedited the process, and within a week, Danny was transferred to Piedmont in Atlanta.
***PRAISE REPORT***
He has now received his liver transplant. Danny, Jessica, daughters Taylor, Lexy, and their families are incredibly grateful for this miracle. Danny is doing well, but he will need to remain in Atlanta to receive his weekly treatments.
As you can imagine, the loss of their income has caused both emotional and financial hardship for Danny and Jessica. They have a mortgage, car payment, utilities, and living expenses, in addition to the cost of going to and from the hospital.
I am reaching out to ask for donations to help cover their monthly bills and expenses. We are incredibly grateful for the support and prayers of everyone who has been involved in this situation. We thank God for this miracle and are so grateful to the physicians and entire staff at Piedmont.
Any small donation or whatever you are able to do will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to Danny and Jessica. I thank you in advance for anything you are able to contribute. We thank everyone for their prayers and ask for continued prayers.
Additionally, I kindly request that you consider forwarding this message on social media to your family, friends, and followers.
**Please consider being an organ donor.**
