Help Danna Recover From a Case of Extreme Cat-Related Mayhem

Hi, I’m Nancy, and I’m asking for help on behalf of my friend Danna — a volunteer cat rescuer who gives everything she has to animals in need… including, apparently, her bones.

If you know Danna, you know she spends her time rescuing cats who are sick, scared, feral, or just having a really bad day. What you may not know is that one of those cats recently chose violence.

What happened (aka: When Mayhem showed up)

A cat bit clean through Danna’s fingernail and out the other side. The pain was so intense it made her dizzy and nauseous, so she sat down.

Unfortunately, sitting was not enough.

She passed out.

She hit her head.

There was blood. A lot of it.

Somewhere in the process, her leg got caught on something, and when she came to, her ankle was bent at a very wrong 45° angle and hurt like h-e-double toothpicks.

The aftermath included:

An ambulance ride

Several hours in the ER

An ankle reduction

A referral to an orthopedic surgeon

And a stack of medical bills no volunteer rescuer should have to deal with alone

Why I’m asking for help

Danna would never ask for this herself — so I am.

We’re raising funds to help cover her medical deductible and related expenses from an accident that happened while she was doing exactly what she always does: showing up for animals who need help.

She didn’t fall off a ladder.

She didn’t do anything reckless.

She rescued a cat… and Mayhem clocked in for a shift.
