Hello my name is Ted Clay Cook. I am a single father of two wonderful sons. My oldest son, Clay, battled leukemia from the age 8 to 17. He fought very hard and was so brave and after years of treatments and struggles, he finally beat it and is now cancer-free by the grace of God. He has a younger brother Daniven, who was always there for his brother and for me and the three of us persevered through all of the tough times together. Daniven is now 21 years old and four weeks ago he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. This was a huge surprise and a devastating blow to our family. He is a very hard worker and is a independent successful young man. He was always there for his brother through the best and worst of times and he has grown into the most selfless, remarkable person. He deserves the very best of life and that includes the very best care and treatment available. However, we are normal, working class people and we don't have kind of $ needed to take care of the co-pays and deductables that are required by his insurance company. We have tried to seek alternate coverage, but it is impossible to do once you have a confirmed cancer diagnosis. So we are struggling already and it's only the beginning. I am so afraid of what will happen if and when we run out of resources to pay. Daniven is probably the best person that I know and he can't lose the upcoming struggle just because of something like money. So please, whoever may read this, of you can it in your heart to give anything to lighten the financial burden, every little bit helps. Thank-you and God bless.
