Support Dani's Family After Devastating Fire

Hi everyone,

My name is Dani and I never imagined I’d be writing this, but our family has just experienced an unimaginable tragedy. While my family and I were celebrating the 4th of July in Washington DC, my home was on fire in Baltimore. We lost so much—but the most important thing is that my special son (who is on the autism spectrum) and I were not home and we’re safe.

While we’re grateful to be alive, the reality of rebuilding is overwhelming. We had insurance, but unfortunately, our policy (which I now realize was far from adequate) only covered a portion of our lost belongings—nothing for temporary housing or moving expenses. Now, we’re left scrambling to find a new place to live while recovering from this trauma.

My son, who thrives on routine and stability, is struggling with this sudden upheaval. As his parent, my biggest priority is getting us into a safe, stable home as quickly as possible—but we need help.
