For as long as I can remember, my brother, Daniel Fishman, has been passionate about sports. From the time he was 5 years old, he dedicated himself to cross-country, track, and soccer, consistently pushing his limits and breaking records along the way. Our family never missed a meet or game—every weekend was spent supporting him, whether he was racing in cross-country or playing soccer.
Daniel was a force to be reckoned with. He ran faster than anyone in his age group, and his coaches always spoke about his bright future. At just 12 years old, he ran an impressive 4:52 minute 1500m (0.93 mi). He participated in several Junior Olympics Cross Country events in Albuquerque and Madison. His speed and determination were unmatched, earning him a spot on the Granada Hills Charter High School varsity soccer team as a freshman—a moment that made all of us so proud.
Unfortunately, Daniel has faced a series of devastating injuries, including an MCL tear, a sprained ankle, and now, a torn ACL. Most recently, after undergoing wisdom tooth removal surgery, he suffered a frightening medical emergency. While I was helping him with his medication and gauze around 9:00 PM, he suddenly lost consciousness, fainted headfirst onto the ground, and suffered a seizure. When he regained awareness, he lost his vision temporarily. Paramedics arrived and confirmed that he had at least fractured his nose in the fall, adding another painful injury to his long road to recovery.
Despite these setbacks, Daniel remains incredibly strong and determined. However, the medical costs for his treatments, surgeries, and physical therapy are overwhelming for my family. Our family is doing everything we can, but we need your support to help Daniel heal, recover, and hopefully return to the sports he loves.
Any donation, no matter how small, would make a huge difference in covering medical bills, physical therapy, and rehabilitation. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this with others who may be able to help.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
