Hi everyone!
I’ve been given the incredible opportunity to attend Uni at Ugat, presented by House of Gongs—a 5-day immersive sanctuary for Filipinx/a/o artists. This experience is deeply meaningful to me, as it focuses on bridging contemporary music with the ancient resonance of Indigenous Filipino gongs, chanting, and traditional instrumentation.
During this time, I’ll be learning directly from Indigenous Master Artists from the Talaandig, Maguindanao, Kalinga, Panay Bukidnon, and T’boli communities. I’ll also receive mentorship from diasporic music experts with experience in Broadway, Hollywood, music scoring, and global stage management. It’s a rare chance to grow as an artist while reconnecting with cultural roots that mean so much to me.
Funding:
All donations will go directly toward my participation in Uni at Ugat, covering tuition, room and board, travel, and production support. Your support also helps sustain and honor the work of the Indigenous Master Artists who are sharing their knowledge with us.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me—it truly means everything.
