Support Danielle's Healing and Recovery

My daughter Danielle was severely injured in an accident late Wednesday night (Feb 16th).

She went out to a concert with the guy she's been on again off again for the last 2 years. Apparently, after the concert, my daughter knew she shouldn't drive because she had had a few drinks (she's tiny little thing so it doesn't take much) she asked her date to drive her home.

Although he wasn't happy about it and was complaining, he said he would. But as soon as he got off the freeway near our house, he changed his mind and said he was gonna take her back to her car and make her drive it home.

Since she was less than a mile from home she said, "stop, let me out, I'll just walk home from here".  That's when she opened the door to get out, I'm not sure if he accelerated, or he was going faster than she thought; she expected him to stop or what, but she took a tumble getting out of his car her, we think she hit her head and was unconscious while her date drove away from the scene and left her there on the ground... what a heartless a$$!  We think that she was then hit by another car while she lay unconscious on the ground. - they also fled the scene.

Thankfully one of my neighbors recognized her, and saw that some good kind people were coming to her aid, so he came to get her father and I immediately.

She was in intensive care for about a day, and is out of the ICU and in a private room in the trauma center. Still has 6 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, lacerated liver and of course, multiple abrasions, a few stitches on her forehead, she has 2 chest tubes to drain the blood and air from her chest and yesterday, they also discovered that she broke her clavicle, and slight fracture to her skull.

She's in tremendous pain, and receiving great care at the trauma center. We are so thankful that she is alive and has no spine or neck injuries and has hope for full recovery.

Danielle is a barista and has been working hard to save money so she could move out... her first concern when she came to in the ER was that I call her boss, as she was supposed to work at 6:30 the next morning.  As you can imagine, she probably can't work for a while and will have medical expenses and such as she recovers.

If you are inspired to help, please send what you can to help her on the road to recovery and be sure to leave her a not of encouragement.

Thanks so much for your love and support.
