Support Danielle's Fight Against Stage 4 Colon Cancer
Donation protected
What started off as a simple surgery for appendicitis, turned into an invisible evil that we are all still trying to comprehend.
In November, our friend, Danielle Lamb, went in for surgery and would hear she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. 12 out of 22 lymph nodes were positive, and later a scan revealed the cancer had metastasized to multiple organs in her body.
The past month has been overwhelming to say the least; multiple appointments, scans, blood tests, along with issues with insurance. Imagine being denied things by your carrier for pet scans, a port for chemo because it's an "elective procedure", or visiting a certain oncologist.
She was able to go to Houston and get an opinion from MD Anderson Cancer Center. She will be starting chemo and have follow appointments with MD Anderson to see how the tumors respond. At this point, she is not a candidate for immunotherapy or surgery, so all of us are praying the chemo works.
Pursuing treatment at MD Anderson comes with significant financial challenges. Danielle, and her husband Ricky, are both self-employed which now puts a strain on them with Danielle unable to work during this time. As they've found out, not everything is covered by insurance, leaving their family of four to shoulder an overwhelming financial burden.
Danielle is now ready to fight. After all, she has a beautiful 2-year old and 7-year old that need her.
This is where your help can make a difference. Please consider supporting the Lamb family in their journey to get Danielle the treatment and support she needs. If you're unable to help, please say a prayer or send positive vibes their way.
