Hi everyone,
My name is Danielle, and on May 20th, 2025, I received a life-altering diagnosis: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) — a chronic and unpredictable disease affecting the central nervous system. Since then, my world has changed dramatically.
It started with a change of vision to the point that everything was blurry. This led me to the eye doctor, who immediately sent me for an MRI, where they discovered 18 lesions on my brain, some of which have already impacted my vision, speech, mental clarity, and emotional regulation. Fatigue has become a daily challenge, and the spread of lesions to cognitive areas of my brain has made even simple tasks difficult. At times, I find myself in a fog, struggling to find words or focus. It’s frightening — not just physically, but emotionally and financially as well.
Since my diagnosis, I've undergone numerous MRIs, blood tests, a spinal tap, and multiple emergency room visits. I’ve just begun infusion therapy to manage inflammation, but the road ahead is long and uncertain.
I am now facing additional financial burdens:
- A neuroprotective medication that shows promise for my condition is not covered by insurance.
- I’ve had to cut back my work hours significantly, which means a loss of income at a time when my medical costs are skyrocketing.
- Many other essential treatments and therapies are only partially covered or not covered at all.
I am not typically one to ask for help, but I have gotten to the point where financial constraints are an added layer of stress, making a difficult situation even harder. This GoFundMe has been created to help cover:
- Medical bills not covered by insurance
- The cost of this additional MS drug
- Basic living expenses while I navigate reduced hours at work
- Transportation and care costs related to treatment
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean the world to me. And if you’re not in a position to give, sharing this page can still make a huge difference.
Thank you for reading my story, and for supporting me in any way you can as I fight to take back my health and independence.
With gratitude,
Danielle
