My name is Danielle, and I lost my job of almost 5 years, very suddenly and with no warning. It was through no fault of my own, just that my "skills no longer aligned with the direction that the team was going." I was dedicated to this job and would help anyone out whenever they needed it. It was extremely devastating, and I am scared of what the future holds. I am, of course, applying for jobs and doing what I can to earn an income, but with the end of the year approaching, this will be extremely challenging.

I have two children (1 and 7 months) who rely on my husband, Zach, and me to take care of them and ensure their needs are met. My husband works as a contractor for the federal government, and with all the job cuts in the federal government, we have no idea how long he will have his job. I am attempting to file for unemployment, but the State of Maryland is not making it easy, and (hopefully) when I do receive it, it will be a fraction of my normal pay.

Any money that is donated will go directly to our monthly bills (electricity, groceries, mortgage). I hate even to ask, and I do not do this lightly. This is extremely upsetting for me and my family, but I no longer have to worry about myself. I have my kids to take care of and ensure they are fed.
