Help Daniel Fight Against Cancer and Make Lasting Memories

Hello all, I assume most of you visiting this page already know me, but on the off chance you don't, I am Erlinda Van Zile, wife of Daniel Van Zile. While both of us use social media, neither of us are constantly updating our lives on a regular basis. So, while we mostly post the joyous moments in our lives, it is with deep sadness that I share the reality of this last year.
In December of 2023, I took Daniel to the UC with the complaint of abdominal pain. TBH, we believed he was just severely constipated, and I was hoping with a few stool softeners and an enema we could be on our way; however, that was not the case. Daniel was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. The first thing our primary care doctor told us was, "Do not google the life expectancy on this diagnosis." So we didn't, and we remained hopeful through this last year of chemotherapy that Daniel would be able to have a liver resection, effectively "curing" him. However, though things were looking up in July and August, on October 1st, 2024, it was confirmed that the cancer had metastasized.
Daniel now has active cancer, not only in the liver, but also in his bones (hips and sternum) and potentially his lungs as well. There is no cure at this point, only time.
Daniel and I have been together for 12 years, married for 9 years, and have the most amazing 4-year-old anyone could ever have the privilege of knowing. Our life together has been filled with adventures, laughs, and so much love. We have been so extremely lucky to have so much support and love in our lives, but as we come to the unfortunate realization that this is the beginning of the end, our goal is to strive to have the best possible lives and to give our baby every single wonderful and happy memory of her dad possible. Daniel has been out of work for the last year dealing with treatments, in-patient hospital stays, tests, imaging, and so much more. While I continue to work and we again, have received help from our wonderful, amazing family, I ask, if you find it in your heart, that you please consider donating to our family. The money will not only go to daily expenses for the above-mentioned things (travel, co-pays, medications, etc.), but also to allow us the freedom to continue to make memories before we have to say goodbye.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you are unable to contribute monetarily, we fully understand and appreciate any prayers or good vibes and love sent our way. If you can, please know how truly grateful we are to you...
and please, love on your families a little extra. It may not seem like it, but time is the most precious commodity we have.
Sincerely,
Erlinda Van Zile.
