Hello.
My name is Daniel Smith from Winchester, VA
I don’t usually ask for help, but I really need some support.
I wear a prosthetic leg on my left side. The one I currently use was made in April 2019, and after years of everyday use, it’s starting to wear out — especially the heel section, which now has a puncture. I’ve patched it up the best I can, but it’s become uncomfortable to walk or stand for long periods.
I still have my first prosthetic leg from about ten years ago, but the foot on that one is in bad shape too. Without a working prosthetic, I can’t get around or take care of the daily responsibilities that I need to — including helping my dad, who also depends on me.
I’ve reached out about possible repairs, but even with insurance, the costs may still come out of pocket, and right now I’m not in a financial position to handle that. I don’t want a brand-new prosthetic — I just want to get my current one repaired so I can keep walking and stay independent.
I’m setting up this fundraiser to cover the repair costs, or a replacement foot section if needed, as well as any fitting or adjustment expenses.
If you’re able to help — through a donation, advice, or sharing this page — it would mean the world to me. Every bit helps, and I’m deeply grateful for your kindness, your prayers, and your support.
Thank you all so much for being there for me.
— Daniel Smith
