UPDATE
Daniel is talking a little bit more now, we have been working hard to get to eat solids, well today he got to eat ground/minced food. He did really well! He also enjoyed his first Dr. Pepper since before his stroke. He loved that!! They are going to do another barium swallow test in the morning, with the hopes of being able to remove the nutrition tube currently in his nose. Also with any luck at all, the insurance company will finally approve his transfer to a rehabilitation facility in Charelston Wva soon. He will be much closer to home there and it will be easier for him to see his boys and for others to be able to visit him! I want to thank everyone for their donations, prayers, well wishes, and good vibes. They are so very much appreciated. Much love❤️, Daniel's Big Sister, Joy
On February 26th, my little brother Daniel Ritenour ,was at work before the start of shift. His co workers noticed something wasn't right with him, so they called an ambulance. He was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus. They discovered he has significant brain bleed on the left side of his brain with a slight midline shift, which caused him to have a hemorrhagic stroke. They immediately scheduled an emergency craniotomy to evacuate as much of the bleed as possible. He was in their ccu/icu unit for 15 days almost fully sedated and on a ventilator. They have been having a hard time to control his blood pressure. We finally got him off of sedation and the ventilator and he is making big progress since then. His right side of his body has been affected, he can feel everything but has difficulty moving his right arm. He is now awake and is talking but he has a long road of recovery ahead. All of his family including me, live more than 2 to 3 hours away from the hospital, which makes it difficult for us to be there with him all the time. As you can imagine this has been a huge financial strain. We are trying to raise some money to help with his sudden loss of income. He has bills and now medical bills that we are trying to keep up with for him as well as any medical things that arise and the cost of fuel, and food to be able to be there with him. Hopefully they will be able to transfer him to a rehabilitation facility but even that is at least an hour away. I am attaching my cashapp, and paypal if anyone would like to or is able to help, our family would greatly appreciate it as well as good vibes, prayers and well wishes!
