I’m Daniel MacDonald, 20 years old from the Isle of Lewis, currently racing in the 2022 Milltek Civic Cup for Kinetic Motorsport.
I have received many questions recently about how people can help to support my racing this year, especially as sponsorship is challenging at the moment due to world issues. I have decided a GoFundMe is the best way to provide this opportunity and help kickstart my career in racing. The goal for this is set to the cost of one race weekend.
Donating will contribute towards costs such as travel, hiring the car, testing the car, and consumables such as brake discs, brake pads and tyres.
Top donators will be given a dedicated spot on the car where they can have a sticker for their name or business logo etc.
Growing up on an island, I only had access to compete in racing Esports championships, before this year I decided to try out the real thing, fulfilling a childhood dream. I aspire to carry on gaining experience and climb up the ranks of racing.
So far this season I have achieved a top 10 finish at my first race weekend and also achieved 6th place in qualifying at Brands Hatch last month. I am currently 11th in the standings as I head to Oulton Park for the third event of the year on the 16th of July.
The Civic Cup is one of the most competitive club-level championships out there and is supporting TCR UK alongside Time Attack at the race meetings this year. The races are live-streamed to thousands of people on Facebook and YouTube.
