Help Daniel & Lindsay Rebuild After Toxic Mold Disaster
Earlier this year, Daniel and his wife Lindsay made the difficult decision to sell their beloved forever home in their dream neighborhood. They wanted something that better fit their family’s needs and found what seemed like the perfect place: a newly built rental home in Cypress, in community with a pool and a playground right across the street for their daughters, Ella (8) and Madison (11).
What was supposed to be a fresh start quickly turned into a nightmare. Since moving in January, Lindsay’s health has declined drastically. She has been to specialist after specialist, including endocrinologists, rheumatologists, gynecologists, and neurologists, trying to understand why her body was inflamed, why she had severe joint pain, extreme fatigue, weight changes, and debilitating headaches. She has also been referred to an ENT for swollen lymph nodes, a gastroenterologist, and now an infectious disease doctor. Every doctor seems to send her to another one, and the picture is becoming clearer: they are dealing with the effects of mycotoxins. Madison is already scheduled to see an infectious disease specialist at the Mayo Clinic, which is a small blessing in this overwhelming journey.
The turning point came when Daniel noticed condensation forming on the walls. They hired Texas Mold Inspectors, a highly respected firm in the field. The results confirmed the family’s worst fears: the house was infested with toxic mold. One of the founders of Texas Mold Inspectors tragically lost a child due to mold exposure, which is why they are so dedicated to helping families like Daniel and Lindsay’s. The attorney working with them has represented many of the company’s clients and is deeply experienced in these cases.
On the advice of the attorney, the family was told not to return to the house. Everything inside, from clothing and furniture to sentimental keepsakes, is contaminated. Daniel, Lindsay, Ella, Madison, and their three dogs had no choice but to leave immediately with only the clothes on their backs.
The rental company has shown no compassion. Instead of helping, they have threatened legal action, withheld the family’s deposit, and even moved toward eviction. Daniel is still working, but with all his uniforms and boots locked inside the home, even that has been an added obstacle in an already overwhelming situation. Lindsay, who just lost her father last month, does not have access to her keepsakes, her grandmother’s jewelry, or family photos. Ella and Madison do not have their toys, books, or personal belongings. Even finding a temporary place to stay has been nearly impossible with three dogs, and long-term housing is financially out of reach.
The family now faces staggering legal costs. The $10,000 retainer is just the beginning, and there will be many more fees as this lawsuit drags on against a powerful company with endless resources. In addition, they urgently need support for the basics: replacing clothes, furniture, food, and covering housing costs until this case is resolved, which could take months or even years.
This is not just inconvenient. It is dangerous for their health and devastating for their future.
Daniel and Lindsay are strong, but they cannot do this alone. If you can help by donating, sharing their story, or offering resources, it would mean the world. Every bit of support gets them one step closer to safety, stability, and rebuilding their lives.
