Support Daniel for Oceania Karate Championship 3-8 June 2025

Hi everyone,

My name is Daniel, and I am a 13-year-old athlete. I have been doing Karate for 10 years at Kimekai Highett dojo. I have a deep passion for competing in Sparring which is a point system fight and part of the style of karate I do. I love representing my club Kimekai and my state, Victoria, across all my competitions.

My dedication has led me to recently getting accepted to the Australian National Team, following my Gold Medal win in the Victorian State Championships. That, in turn, allowed me to take part in Australian Open Karate Competition in Sydney, where I won a Gold medal in my U14 division. I have also applied for the Oceania AFK U14 Championship, and I am pleased to say that I have been invited to join the Australian team at this event that would take place in New Caledonia on 3-8 June 2025.

This is an absolute dream come true and to be able to have this opportunity to represent my country and to compete internationally. I am a very hardworking dedicated person, always putting my best into what I do, and I would love to make myself, my parents, my dojo, my teachers/senseis, my state and, most importantly, my country proud.

However, attending this event comes with significant costs, including travel, accommodation, registration, uniform and equipment. I want to contribute to my journey, but all my time is spent training and doing schoolwork, so I am reaching out to ask for your support in making this dream a reality. Any contribution, big or small, will bring me one step closer to the championship.

As a token of gratitude, I plan to:

· Share updates and photos from the championship

· Acknowledge supporters on my social media platforms

· Bring back any awards or medals to share with the community

I also hope that Mentone Grammar will assist in supporting my fundraising efforts. The school has a strong tradition of community involvement and has been instrumental in helping students to achieve goals through various initiatives.
