On August 2nd, Dane was involved in a tragic jet ski accident on the St. Johns River that left him with devastating injuries and required him to be life-flighted to OMC, where he was rushed into the trauma center. He underwent a six-hour surgery to repair his right leg, hand, and wrist, and faces a long road ahead.
Dane’s injuries are extensive: a compound fracture to his right tibia, a fractured fibula, a fractured wrist and thumb, the amputation of his index fingertip, a severely lacerated middle finger that was crushed and had to be sewn back on, four broken ribs (6–9), a punctured and partially collapsed lung, a stage four lacerated liver, and severe road rash with puncture wounds.
While Dane is in recovery, his journey will be long, painful, and filled with hospital stays, rehabilitation, and follow-up surgeries.
On top of these medical challenges, Dane owns and operates his own concrete business. As the heart and hands of his company, these injuries mean he cannot work for an extended period of time—leaving him not only with mounting medical bills but also the stress of lost income and the uncertainty of keeping his business afloat.
Anyone who knows Dane knows the kind of man he is. He’s the first person to drop what he’s doing to help a friend in need, the guy who shows up no matter what, and someone who goes above and beyond for everyone around him. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
This fundraiser will help ease the heavy financial burden that comes with such a life-changing accident—from medical bills and rehabilitation to living expenses and supporting his business while he recovers.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you can’t give financially, please keep Dane in your prayers and share this page to spread the word.
