SAD NEWS!! My mom, Sandy, died yesterday. She loved to dance and picked up the nickname of “Dancing Sandy” in our small beach town in Mexico, where she savored her last years. 

 When she wasn’t boogying on the dance floor, she was at the beach. At 77, Sandy rocked a bikini with her natural platinum grey blonde curly hair (her younger self was brunette). She was unapologetic, magnetic, and the life of every party! 

 Her joy was an inspiration to everybody she met, often seen smiling ear to ear, dancing, and laughing with her friends.  

People would often say: “when I grow up, I want to be like your mom.” 

 I usually responded: “me too!” “I get it from my mama!!” 

 Sandy was warmed by all the support, volunteers, donations, food, kind words, and hugs she received. Thank you so much! 

 She left this plane knowing she was loved by many!

My mom is a darling of our little town, “Dancing Sandy” is an example of how to truly enjoy life.

At 76 years old, she still is usually either dancing to her favorite bands or enjoying the beach smiling from ear to ear. She is happiest when she is dancing.

Recently, Dancing Sandy was diagnosed with Stage III cancer that has spread to her lymph nodes locally. The cancer’s location is inoperable.

She needs to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Treatments will be Monday-Friday for 6 weeks.

We’ll have to drive 1.5 hours to the city for treatment and 1.5 hours back Monday-Friday. Luckily, we have amazing neighbors that have offered to help with some of the driving.

We know a lot of people want to help, but don’t know how.
