It is with great excitement that we announce Los Alamitos Ballet Theatre’s outreach program, Dance Across Cultures. This international outreach program will be presented in conjunction with The Astor Johnson Repertory Dance Theatre, a renowned local Trinidadian dance company founded by esteemed choreographer, Astor Johnson, in 1972.

Dance Across Cultures, which will take place in Summer 2025, aims to bring the beauty and transformative power of dance to the underexposed communities in Trinidad and Tobago. Los Alamitos Ballet Theatre will bring a group of faculty, staff, and dancers to the islands in two teams. Everyone will engage in outreach through various workshops, master classes, and performances.

Los Alamitos Ballet Theatre and The Astor Johnson Repertory Dance Theatre hope to inspire a new generation of dancers, exposing them to the physical, emotional, and creative benefits of dance. We hope to guide them to further education and training, giving them the tools needed for a dance career if they desire. We hope that you will support us in our endeavors as we initiate such a transformative program this summer.
