Hello,

I'm Becca (Mrs. Kim) and I teach 5 periods of dance at Balboa High School. The students are amazing! We start out each class with a positive quote for the day and a round table question (both selected by one of the students). We practice Modern, Latin, Hip Hop, and Dancehall while learning about why people dance through written assignments and group projects.

Practice takes place in BHS's lovely auditorium. I'd love to take them on excursions to see formal training facilities with mirrors, take master classes, and see a performance by a professional touring group.

Currently, funding for classes through SFUSD's budget is quite tight and allocated to equipment only. If you've ever had an experience in dance/not, these students deserve an experience that could impact their perception of dance - and the dance world.

Any amount would be helpful! For instance, $10 goes a long way and can afford a master class at Lines Ballet for one student. If we get 50 of those donations, we can afford to take them to Lines Ballet for a 3-hour masterclass session!

If there is left over funding, it would go toward funding for Carnaval for next semester!
