Hello, my name is Apryl and I’m reaching out for help for my son Dana. On January 22, Dana underwent what was supposed to be a routine umbilical hernia surgery. At first, his recovery seemed to be going well, but on February 3, everything changed. Dana was suddenly in excruciating pain, his abdomen became swollen and red, and his surgical incisions began leaking. His wife called 911, and when he arrived at the hospital, it was clear how serious his condition was. After many tests, we learned that Dana’s body had gone septic and he needed emergency surgery right away. During the operation, doctors discovered a tear in his bowel and an abundance of scar tissue from a previous surgery. The scar tissue had attached to other organs, making the procedure even more complicated. They had to remove part of his small intestine and make several repairs. Dana has since endured blood transfusions, countless antibiotics, and fluids through IV. He is currently in the critical care unit, facing a long and difficult road to recovery. I believe in the power of prayer, and more than anything, I am asking for prayers for Dana. He is a kind-hearted, loving person who would help anyone in need. He is a devoted husband and father to two beautiful children, Lexus (10) and Aiden (7). Right now, Dana’s wife is unable to work as she focuses on his recovery and caring for their children. Even though it feels like time is standing still for us, the bills keep coming—rent is due, the lights and heat need to stay on, and the kids need food.
