A Safe Haven for Dana, Jessa Rae, and Their Beloved Companions
Hello, my name is Dana, and I am a single mother to my beautiful one-year-old daughter, Jessa Rae. We are facing an incredibly difficult and urgent situation, and I am reaching out for a helping hand to keep us in our home.
Since December 2024, my life, and Jessa Rae's, was turned upside down. I became a domestic violence survivor as a stay at home mother. This sudden change left us without our main source of income, forcing me to navigate single parenthood and financial strain alone since Jessa Rae was just nine months old.
Complicating matters, I suffered a severe spine injury in a car accident in 2021, which has left me unable to drive. This makes finding traditional work incredibly challenging, especially living on the outskirts of town with my three dogs and two cats – my cherished family members who rely on me. I've been diligently searching for remote work since January, but haven't yet secured a stable position.
While I receive some government assistance, it's not enough to cover our rent, and the rental assistance we've been receiving is running out. I am urgently worried about being able to pay July's rent. Without this support, our only option may be to move into a women's shelter, which would mean leaving our pets behind, and we have nowhere else to go.
My immediate goal is to keep Jessa Rae, our pets, and myself in our current home for as long as possible while I work tirelessly to find a new, safe, and sustainable living situation. This transition will take time and financial resources, and I am actively working on a long-term plan. However, right now, we need immediate support to prevent homelessness.
I am doing everything I can on my own, but I've reached the end of my rope. Every contribution, no matter how small, will directly help us cover critical expenses and ensure we have a safe roof over our heads during this vulnerable time.
How your donation will help:
Cover July's Rent: Our most immediate need to prevent eviction.
Essential Living Expenses: Help with basic necessities like food for Jessa Rae and our pets, and utilities.
Transition to Stability: Contribute to future moving costs and deposits once a safer, long-term home is secured.
Please consider donating and sharing our story. Your generosity can make all the difference in helping us navigate this crisis and rebuild our lives.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
With gratitude,
Dana & Jessa Rae
