Support Dana Booker's Medical Recovery

My name is Damon McPherson and I am a senior pastor at The Way Ministries in Vancouver, Washington where Dana Booker and her family attend and Dana serves on the worship team. I am putting together this GoFundMe to support the family as this horrible tragedy struck with no prior warning and has put a huge strain on them financially.

On Sunday evening, July 14, while relaxing at home with her husband and children, 44-year-old Dana Booker suddenly began to convulse and gasp for air. What followed was a terrifying medical emergency caused by a seizure related to her Type 2 Diabetes. In an instant, Dana lost consciousness—her heart stopped beating, and she stopped breathing.

By the grace of God, her husband Michael Booker, a devoted father and husband, immediately sprang into action and began CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive. When emergency responders reached their home, Dana had to be shocked four to five times before her heart was stabilized. She was then rushed to the hospital, sedated, and intubated to give her body time to rest and heal.

Since then, Dana has remained in the ICU under close observation and care. After several days of sedation and life support, she is beginning to show encouraging signs of recovery. Dana has opened her eyes, responded to her name, and has begun moving her hands and nodding her head to communicate. Her strength and will to fight have been nothing short of inspiring.

Her husband recently shared this update:

“Dana is very aware and engaged, and she’s requested an MRI to ensure everything is stable with her brain. So far, her recovery has been truly inspiring.
