Support Dan Payton's Liver Transplant Recovery
Donation protected
Dan Payton underwent a liver transplant on Saturday, September 7th, at OSU Hospital. He was diagnosed with liver disease around May of last year. It has been months of blood work, scans, paracentesis, procedures, and other appointments. About 6 months ago, he switched specialists to OSU and had been going through the process there to get on the liver transplant list. He was finally approved and put on that list a few weeks ago.
To Dan's surprise, he got that call Friday night to be at OSU for his liver transplant. Surgery took place Saturday morning for about 7-8 hours and went well. He is in ICU and should be moved to the transplant unit hopefully today with around a total of 6-12 days inpatient at OSU.
Dan is the sole income provider for his family (Ami, Graci, and Dylan). To alleviate some of the financial burden over the next 4-5 months of being out of work, I would like to start this GoFundMe for The Payton Family. Dan has to have someone (Ami) with him 24 hours a day for at least six weeks after he leaves the hospital. This will help with Dan having weekly trips of going back and forth to OSU for months. He also will not be able to drive for up to 3 months.
Dan is a self-employed flooring installer, which is a profession that requires a lot of physical labor. This money would also allow him to ease back into work when the time comes.
Please keep Dan and his family in your prayers as his body has lots of healing to do in the upcoming months.
