Help Dan Herd Fight ALS: A Father’s Battle for More Time with His Family
In 2022, my father, Dan Herd, was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Just months later, we tragically lost his brother, my uncle, to the same devastating illness. The pain of losing a loved one to ALS, while knowing my dad’s diagnosis was the same, has been heart-wrenching for our entire family.
Despite the grim prognosis that comes with ALS, my dad has refused to give up. He has fought this disease with everything he has and is determined to spend as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren. With no cure available and limited options from traditional medicine, my dad has begun exploring alternative therapies that may slow the progression of ALS and, in some cases, even stop it.
The unfortunate reality is that many of these promising treatments are not covered by insurance, and the costs are overwhelming. But my dad is a fighter, and he deserves the opportunity to try anything that could help him continue to be there for his family. That’s why I am reaching out for your help.
Why We Need Your Help
My dad has always been the one to step up, to be the “Mr. Fix It” for anyone who needed him. Whether it was helping neighbors, friends, or family, he’s always been there. Now, it’s time for us to be there for him.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly towards covering the costs of alternative therapies that could help slow the progression of ALS, therapies that are not covered by insurance. Your donation will give my dad the chance to fight for more years with his family, creating precious memories with his grandchildren and loved ones.
How You Can Make a Difference
Every donation, no matter the amount, will have a meaningful impact.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate: Any contribution you can make will directly support my dad’s treatments.
Share: Spread the word about this campaign with your friends, family, and networks. The more people who know about it, the more likely we are to reach our goal.
Encourage Others: If you know someone who has been touched by ALS or understands the importance of giving people more time with their families, please let them know about this fundraiser.
Thank You for Your Support
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my dad. He is the first one to help others, and now it’s our turn to help him. Your generosity will make a world of difference in his fight against ALS, and it could provide us all with more precious time together as a family.
We are deeply grateful for your support.
