Support Dan Bennett's Stroke Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Eric, and the last thing I'd ever do is ask for help, so know that this was not a light decision. Yesterday morning (Thursday, January 16th, 2025), my step-father Dan Bennett was on his way to work when the unthinkable happened. He felt a sharp pain in his neck and began vomiting uncontrollably. He was taken by EMS to Montpelier ER where they immediately found a severe brain bleed and called for a life flight. He suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He was flown to Fort Wayne where he had to go straight into a procedure to relieve pressure from his brain and drain the blood. The first drain was unsuccessful, so they needed to create a second entry point into the brain. The second is working better, and his numbers are doing well as of right now. He is still very much not out of the woods. We have no real information yet regarding brain damage, long-term survivability, or recovery. We only know it will be a very long road ahead.
Dan is the sole income earner for his household and neither he nor my mother have insurance as his work does not offer it. My siblings and our significant others are helping as much as we can to ease the burden in any way possible. Their bills, trips to and from, meals, and other costs associated with this long road add up very quickly.
If you know Dan, you know he'd drop anything in the world to come lend you a hand. He really is the epitome of giving you the shirt off his back, and right now, he needs the shirt.
If you cannot donate, I'd love it if you could share and pray, as this is going to be a very long road.
