Friends, Family and Colleagues
It saddens me to share that Dan and Erin Lindsay have lost their home in the Eaton Canyon Wildfires. We are incredibly fortunate that Dan, Erin, their two dogs, Goose and Pickles, are safe and in good health. However, like many families in Altadena, they’ve lost everything: clothing, family photo albums, books, art, hard drives, a lifetime of work, and many irreplaceable family and personal items. Tragically, their beloved community has also been devastated. Everything they identified as “home”—from the local coffee shop to the dentist—no longer exists. Altadena now needs help moving forward and so do our dear friends, Dan and Erin.
As many of you know, both Dan and Erin are supremely talented, deeply thoughtful, and extremely generous. Above all, their kindness and compassion are unparalleled. As Dan’s creative partner and best friend, I’ve experienced this firsthand. They’ve opened their home, provided financial resources, and have been a bedrock of emotional support during times of personal hardship; and I’m certain I’m not the only one. Their “open door” policy welcomed us all, whether to celebrate birthdays, baby showers, and holidays, or to grieve personal losses. Their home was an extension of their identity, filled with care, love, and hospitality. It’s now our turn to support them.
As a community, we’ve been able to provide initial support and resources but like many families, Dan and Erin now face a long road to recovery. Getting back on their feet will be long and costly, so we believe the most meaningful way to help is to ease their financial burden. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. This will allow them to prioritize their emotional and mental well being as well as give them space to grieve and process the enormity of this event.
