Help me Prepare a Safe Home for Damien as He Fights Cancer Again.

Our family is asking for help for my brother-in-law (my husband's brother), Damien, who is once again bravely battling cancer.

At the end of December, he underwent surgery after his cancer returned. Since early January, he has been in a rehabilitation facility working to regain his strength. In total, he has been away from his home for nearly three months — since before Thanksgiving — focusing completely on his health and recovery.

Damien has been living on a fixed income since his original cancer diagnosis and is essentially disabled. With mounting bills and ongoing rehabilitation time away from home, there is no room in his budget for unexpected emergencies.

While he has been away, the condition of his home has sadly deteriorated. His cat was being looked after by neighbors, but the litter box was not maintained. Over time, the situation became severe, and the cat began using multiple rooms of the home as a bathroom. Today, a pet rescue removed the cat, and Cotton his cat is currently being treated and the rescue is hoping he could be rehomed.

Before Damien can safely return home, the house will require professional deep cleaning and sanitation. The damage goes beyond what family alone can reasonably fix. It must be properly treated to ensure the home is safe and healthy for him, especially with his weakened immune system.

We are asking for help to:

First and foremost:

• Professionally deep clean and sanitize the home

• Remove and replace any damaged materials if needed

• Restore a safe, livable environment for his return

Secondly, provide funds to this awesome rescue Krazy Kritters Co of New Ringgold, PA who got Cotton out and to the vet. Paula, you are amazing.

After months of fighting cancer and focusing on recovery, the last thing he should have to face is coming home to unsafe living conditions.
