Hi everyone,
My name is Bryanna and I am starting a GoFundMe on behalf of my family. We are hoping to raise money for any medical treatment that my brother, Damian Olivarez, may need and for any other necessities we may need.
On September 15, 2024, at exactly 3:52 am we got an SOS alert from my brother's iPhone detecting an impact. At around 5 am we were notified by the police that he was being transported to the hospital.
My brother was working Universals Studio's HHN that week and was coming home from work when he fell asleep at the wheel and unfortunately drove into a semi-truck. My brother was trapped under the semi for about 30 minutes while the fire department team tried to get him out. He was rushed to the hospital after they did get him out but he suffered many injuries. When he did reach the hospital and my parents got to him, he had to be taken to surgery to fix his broken femur. My brother had a hard impact on the head, he fractured his pelvis, upper jaw, nose, and rib. Due to the severity of his injuries, my brother was taken to the ICU where he spent about a week and a half. He was later transferred to another ICU unit for more specialty care.
As of yesterday, October 15, 2024, my brother has been in the ICU for a month and is fighting for his life. He is being heavily sedated due to the severity of the injuries he has suffered. His main one is the trauma done to his lungs. My brother is critically ill and needs more hospice care.
There are no words to truly describe what my family and I are going through. My baby brother, 19 years old, only two years younger than me, is such a bright person and so beautiful inside and out. He has been showing incredible strength, and we know that he can push through this. His road to recovery is going to be long and difficult, but he's fighting strong.
As you can imagine, the medical and living expenses are overwhelming. We are reaching out to ask for your help in supporting Damian and my family during this incredibly challenging time. Any contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this GoFundMe would be such a great help. You're prayers and positivity would be very appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness.
Olivarez Family
